You don’t have to live near a forest or field to forage — powerful herbs grow right under your feet in lawns, sidewalks, parking lots, and playground edges. In this hands-on class, we’ll explore the wild edible and medicinal plants growing around the shopping center green spaces and sidewalks, learning how to identify common allies like plantain, dandelion, and ground ivy.
You’ll also learn how to determine whether a plant is safe to harvest, how to build respectful relationships with the land (even in unexpected places), and how to turn wild herbs into simple, nourishing remedies using ingredients you likely already have in your kitchen. We will focus on learning 3 simple recipes you can use again and again.
This class is perfect for the plant-curious, budding foragers, kitchen herbalists, and anyone who wants to reconnect with the medicine growing all around them — even in the most familiar places.
