Remembering the Dead: An Ancestor Ritual

In cultures all over the world, people acknowledge this particular time of year, halfway between Autumn Equinox and Winter Solstice, as a time when the veil between the living world and the spirit world is thin.

These cultures practice rituals at this time as a way to honor the ancestors and loved ones who have moved on. Join us as we create a communal Ancestor Altar and share in a loving ritual to honor our loved ones who are no longer with us on this powerful day.

Please bring a photo of someone (or multiple people) whom you'd like to honor, an object that reminds you of them or was theirs, and/or food or drink that they enjoyed. You will take home with you everything that you bring, but all items will be placed on the communal altar during the ritual. You may also wish to bring a cushion to sit on during the circle.
